Stake App: what exists outside Brazil and why there is no active Brazilian app

Stake has an official app only in Colombia, available on the Play Store and App Store as "Stake Colombia," according to the Colombian help center. In Brazil, sports betting and online casinos have been banned since September 25, 2026, and the stake.com terms list the country as a prohibited jurisdiction.

What the Colombian help center says about the Stake Colombia app

The Stake Colombia help center advises that the "Stake Colombia" app can be downloaded from the Play Store and App Store. When registering through the app, personal details must be filled in exactly as they appear on the identity document — the Colombian citizenship card or foreigner's card is accepted. After completing registration, a validation code is sent to the provided email address.

Identity verification is mandatory and must be completed within 30 days of account creation. The process is conducted through the Veriff platform, directly within the app. Only the citizenship card is accepted as a valid document; passports, driver's licenses, and other documents are rejected. If the 30-day deadline is not met, the account is suspended until verification is completed. These rules apply exclusively to the Colombian operation and do not indicate the existence of an equivalent procedure in Brazil.

Why there is no Stake app for Brazil

Since September 25, 2026, sports betting and online casinos have been banned in Brazil, as published on the brasilsembets.gov.br portal. Platforms were required to keep their sites online and allow withdrawals until 23:59 on October 5, 2026. If you did not withdraw by that date, the balance will be automatically returned by the banks operating with the platforms between October 9 and 14, 2026. Those who do not receive the funds should contact Caixa Econômica Federal starting October 14.

The stake.com terms list Brazil among the prohibited jurisdictions, alongside countries such as Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru. According to that document, residents or persons located in those jurisdictions may not use the service. The site is operated by Medium Rare N.V., licensed by the Curaçao Gaming Authority under license OGL/2024/1451/0918. The terms also require users to be at least 18 years old or of legal gambling age in their jurisdiction, whichever is greater.

Risks of third-party files and APKs

APK files distributed by unofficial websites pose concrete security risks. These packages do not undergo official store reviews and may contain malicious code, such as banking data collectors or keyloggers. There is no assurance that the file corresponds to legitimate software, nor that it will function in a jurisdiction where the service is prohibited.

Installing an APK to access a betting platform banned in Brazil does not circumvent the current legal restriction. The stake.com terms expressly prohibit use by residents of prohibited jurisdictions, and any attempt to bypass this restriction violates the platform's own terms. For these reasons, we do not recommend downloads, APKs, or methods to circumvent blocks.
